Post-punk, self-proclaimed pub rockers Owners Club have just released their self-titled ‘Owners Club EP’. Already gaining support from BBC Introducing and selling out shows across the South Coast, the band draw from the legacy of British greats, taking influence from Marc Bolan and The Jam. Their sound also takes heavily from NYC icons The Strokes and The Walkmen, with the new project showcasing their explosive and grungy sound in glorious colour.

The EP features aggressive riffs that line up with the performative vocals as a sleek and nostalgic basis, but expands the soundscape with complex drum grooves, soaring lead synths and driving bass parts. Their tongue-in-cheek attitude makes their personalities extremely likeable, whilst their distinctive performances resign themselves to grinning in the chaos. Truly a thrilling piece of work.

On the EP, the band share, “Double Diamond and Village Green are reflections on Britain and British culture. While Double Diamond has a more nostalgic outlook, Village Green takes a swipe at the mindset of some brits. Evil Twin just came along for the ride.

Although… maybe Village Green is the Evil Twin to Double Diamond? Maybe that’s what we were trying to say by including it… you decide.

Written by us and recorded and produced by our pal Matt from WELLY, it’s a labour of love and we hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed writing and recording it.”
