What do you think you’ll enjoy the most about The Great Escape?

I’m think I’m gunna most enjoy feeling like a woman on a mission playing our shows. 5 gigs in 3 days, lets go!

Is this the first time you’re playing? If so, what are you most excited about?

It’s Lazy Day’s first time playing and we’re pretty excited about all of it! Band sleepovers at our AirBnB, seeing as many cool shows as we can, meeting new people and hanging out with old friends, and of course playing our songs in lots of different venues in Brighton. Maybe a couple of dramatic outfit changes between sets? Maybe a mango Solero on the beach? Anything could happen.

Any memories or highlights that stick out from previous years?

I remember seeing Wolf Alice in a tiny room in 2013. We were all packed in like sardines and they were really amazing.

Which bands are you keen on seeing this year?

I’m really looking forward to Hand Habits, Body Type, Charly Bliss and Faye Webster.

If you had one piece of advice for new artists/bands just starting out, what would that be?

Make music that you’d want to listen to yourself, and find people to play your music with that you can be 100% yourself around. But also keep on rockin’, keep on truckin’, and don’t give up on the dream.

Tell us one fact about yourself that people might not know.

I’m doing a PhD in queer and feminist art, and I’ll be coming to Brighton straight after teaching a first year university lecture. It’ll be a swift transformation, a true Hannah Montana double life moment.
