For the 51st entry in our mix series, we welcome Selling, a new project from Gold Panda and Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco. Fresh from dropping their debut album on City Slang, the pair have pieced together a subtle blend of sparkling electronics and aquatic techno and breakbeat house courtesy of Dedekind Cut, µ-Ziq, DJ Richard and DJ Lily, Synkro & Arovane and many more late night sound sorcerers. This one is a proper journey.

Born out of a decade-long friendship, Jas Shaw says “Selling was made for fun, really as an excuse to get Derwin (Gold Panda) to come to my house and drink tea. I like to think that enjoyment is audible in the record” Released into the wild with no prior warning, On Reflection sees the duo diving deep into driving washed-out techno and sweet, shimmering electronics. On the surface, the project will find a home with fans of both artists previous projects, yet with On Reflection, they play to each other’s production strengths and channel sounds that feel entirely new.
