The Great Escape is just around the corner and we’ve asked Our Girl to share their thoughts regarding the annual festival in Brighton.
What do you enjoy the most about The Great Escape?
There’s just a great vibe around Brighton, seeing all my pals and getting to see some new bands.
Is this the first time your playing? If so, what are you most excited about?
Oh no, we’re TGE veterans haha, we’re old hats. But i’m still excited to play this year again!
If not, any memories or highlights that stick out from previous years?
I remember seeing Sunflower Bean for the first time, I think it was three years ago. It was at Bleach for the Cannibal hymns showcase, they were amazing!
Which bands are you keen on seeing this year?
I really want to see Bodega (I saw them at SXSW and they were great!), Flohio, Phoebe Bridgers, Underwater Boys, Boy Azooga, I really want to see Idles as well but have a DJ set at the same time unfortunately, but you should definitely go see them!
If you had one piece of advice for new artists/bands just starting out, what
would that be?
