In 2012, Nick Hodgson parted his ways with Kaiser Chiefs and started writing and producing for others, having hits with artists such as Mark Ronson, Hurts, John Newman and others.

Early this year he began to feel the urge to write for himself:

“Suddenly felt like I was writing for myself. I’d spent years writing music for other people to sing and collaborate on, but this was a strange feeling: I was gonna write this for me”.

He is now released his first solo single ‘Suitable’, taken from his upcoming first solo album. The track premiered on DIY.

Hodgson says:

“It’s basically about my wife and also my post-Kaiser life, which is much calmer and more serene than it was… I love lush production and dreamy imagery”. – keep reading on DIY.

In the light of The Cribs’ upcoming Cribsmas shows, Nick has been announced as one of The Cribs’ rotating cast of support acts, playing at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club on 18th December.
