After releasing his first solo single ‘Suitable’, Kaiser Chief’s drummer, Nick J.D. Hodgson unveils the video for it, premiering on Dork.

Since leaving the band in 2012 he has written and produced for other artists, and has seen success in this new world with the likes of Mark Ronson, John Newman, Hurts and Ratboy. A solo career was not something Hodgson was even considering, as he explains: ‘It was a long time since I’d written a song just for myself… and then I wrote Thank You”.

The video was filmed using just an iPhone and £4 selfie-stick.

Nick talks about the video:

“My wife Anna directed it when we were in Suffolk in the summer 2017. We got up at 4am to shoot the video with the sunrise as the backdrop. It was filmed on an iPhone and held by a £4 selfie-stick.” “We wanted the video to represent the lushness of the track. It’s quite slow and soaring so the dramatic sunrise across the Suffolk fields seemed to fit really well. There were some pretty sleepy and confused cows watching us the whole time. I was fine with that.” – Dork

UK Tour Dates:

18 Dec – Brudenell Social Club Leeds (Supporting the Cribs)
