Love Record Stores Day has named Tim Burgess as its ambassador
Love Record Stores Day will take place on Saturday June 20. The separate Record Store Day event was moved to that date, but will now take place on three weekends later in the year.
Burgess has attracted a huge social media following for his Twitter listening party.
The #LRSD promotion is an initiative from the #loverecordstores campaign, which launched on March 26 to encourage music fans to shop online with their favourite record stores.
With the aim of encouraging music fans to continue supporting independent record stores online, a wide range of labels have already pledged to make available exclusive, limited edition releases for #LRSD. Already confirmed are releases from Oasis, Caribou, Belle and Sebastian, Arctic Monkeys, Beach House, Robyn, New Order, Jungle and John Grant and many more to be announced.
To support #LRSD a 24-hour online party is being curated Tim Burgess and the #loverecordstores team, including exclusive ‘at home’ performances, DJ sets, ‘virtual drinks’, Q&As, readings and more.
