LATE NIGHT TALES – March Label Focus

We asked Late Night Tales all about setting up & working for a record label!

1. What prompted you to start the label?

Working for many labels in the past like Mute Records, Blast first and Rhythm King inspired me.

2. What has been your proudest moment of the label so far?

Signing and releasing Khruanbins music on our Night Time Stories imprint

3. Which three to five albums would you recommend to someone who maybe doesn’t know the label and wants to start checking it out?

The Cinematic Orchestra

Bonobo

Jon Hopkins

Khruangbin

Leifur James

4. If money was no object, which artist(s) – past or present – would you love to sign to the label, and why?

David Bowie (For his Berlin period)

Led Zeppelin (For the Physical Graffiti album)

Nick Drake (For the Five Leaves Left album)

Beck

Boards Of Canada

Massive Attack

5. If you had one piece of advice for someone wanting to start a label, what would it be?

Don’t think about the financial aspect as you would never release anything but go for the music you really love and want others to share with you.

Thanks Late Night Tales!
