Here’s the staff picks for the month! We’ve seen some great releases, we hope you enjoy them.

Mark’s recommendation for this month is Thousand Foot Whale Claw – Black Hole Party (Holodeck).

Coming on the exceptional Holodeck label, this slab of vinyl is an absolute masterclass in filmic, anthemic, futuristic, electronic music. From the opening track ‘No Kingdom’ to the brilliant ‘Black Hole Party’ this delivers throughout. Like some kind of imaginary soundtrack to a post apocalyptic landscape, Thousand Foot Whale Claw (great name by the way!) could well just have become my favourite band of 2018! Check it people.

Andy chose Dj Seinfeld – Dj Kicks (!K7 Records).

Jerry would like this ! King of the lo-fi house scene Armand Jackobsson drops the latest instalment of the Kick series. Serious head nodding business.

Greg recommends Seahawks – Eternal Beams (Ocean Moon).

Tripped out hazy balearic slow jams. One for hot sunny days with an ice cold beer.

Richie chose Susso Seki Singh – Orange Sunshine (Painted Word Music).

Painted Word Music are the label you’ll love ~ the problem is you just don’t not that yet.  Susso Seki Singh is made up from 3 very talented (Susso Seki Singh, consisting of Jally Kebba Susso on Kora, Andrea Seki on Harp, and Kiranpal Singh on Santoor. ) musicians who have put together an amazing piece of work ~ Orange Sunshine will fit perfectly over a montage of footage from England bringing football home …

Ben Smith recommends Roger Eno – Dust Of Stars (Painted World Music).

Beautiful ambient jazz album from Brian’s brother. Perfect late night late night listening for these steamy nights!
